Where it all started

Way back in 1987, Cliff Biggers and Ward Batty started Comic Shop News® as a weekly, print fanzine for stores, with a focus on the best new comics available for pre-order.

Since the beginning, CSN has been at the heart of the comics industry. CSN was the first print appearance of Deadpool and Spawn. CSN was Geoff John’s first writing gig. CSN is where Brian Michael Bendis launched ‘Powers’ and was featured in the opening credits of Kevin Smith’s film, ‘Chasing Amy’. Reading old issues of CSN is like stepping back in time machine to experience comics history, week by week. In a world of disposable, digital first culture, it’s simply remarkable that this little print newspaper hasn’t missed a week for almost 40 years.

Today, Comic Shop News® is still covering all the great comics, toys, books and games available for purchase at your local comic shop. Read by more than 40,000 people each week, available every Wednesday at your local comic shop.
